B'gosh and b'gorn, may the luck o' the Irish be with you, be sure to wear green or you might get a pinch — these are all things you might be hearing over the next few days as St. Patrick's Day is March 17. Legend has it that St. Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland on that date in the fifth century (although historians say there were never snakes on the Emerald Isle). Nevertheless, he is one of the patron saints of Ireland and is annually remembered and honored on that date. In Ireland, it is a religious day and most attend mass in St. Patrick's honor. But in America, the day is full of parades, corned beef and cabbage and green beer. In Chicago, they even dye the river green.
Here are some places to go to get your Irish on in the Treasure Valley. And if you see any leprechauns while you're out reveling in the merriment, be sure to Uber home.
